LebCo U16 Girls claim 1st place at Hempfield Fall Classic with a 3-0-1 record.

November 22, 2009  Manheim, PA The U16 Girls finished out the 2009 outdoor season with a convincing win at the Hempfield Classic. The team shut out 3 of the 4 teams they played over the weekend, giving up 2 goals in a tie with the WV 2009 State Cup winner. It was a fantastic year for the girls winning the EPYSA State Challenge Cup, being part of the final 16 teams competing for the USYS President's Cup, and competing in 2 elite premier tournaments.

LebCo U16G go 1-1-1 at the Discovery Cup in Maryland over Columbus Day weekend.

October 12, 2009  Boyds, MD The U16 Girls played well in the Discovery Cup at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, MD. The girls played the 2009 Maryland State Cup winner, Thunder Extreme ( ranked #5 in MD ), to a 0-0 tie 10 minutes into into the second half, and then unfortunatly pulled a red card and had to play down a player for the remainder of the game. The Exteme was relentless and the Strike eventually could not keep the attacks in check and gave up 2 late goals. It was the last goal the girls gave up during the weekend, playing McLean Fusion ( ranked #10 in VA )  to a 1-0 win and then finishing up the weekend with a 0-0 tie against LOUDOUN. It was a geat weekend and the soccerplex was a fantastic facility.

U15G Presidents Cup ends at Region 1 Finals

June 21, Kirkwood, DE The U15 Girls run to the Presidents Cup nationals ended over the weekend in poor weather and field conditions at the Kirkwood Soccer complex in Delaware. The team lost to a very good New Jersey team ( ranked #6 in NJ ) 4-1. Although the girls played well the first 40 minutes with the game 1-1 at half, NJ Jersey made the best of their opporunties in the second half. Playing NY ( ranked #8 in NY ) tough was not good enough in the second game as the girls lost another match 2-0. The final game on Sunday was canceled due to bad field conditions.

Congrats goes out to all the players on a job well done. They far exceeded their expectations by first winning the EPYSA State Challenge Cup and then winning a place in the Region 1 finals of the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup. Being part of the final 16 teams in the US was quite an accomplishment!!

LebCo U15G move on to Presidents Cup Region 1 Finals to be played June 20/21.

May 31, Pittsburgh, PA The U15 Girls earned a spot in the Presidents Cup Region 1 finals after having a successful weekend in the qualifying round played near Pittsburgh. With wins on Saturday against the Western NY qualifier 8-1 and the Western PA qualifier 2-0, the girls locked up at least a wild card berth. On Sunday the team lost a very close match against  the Eastern NY (ranked #9) qualifier. Only needing a tie, the team could not capitalize on a PK late in the game and lost 2-1. The girls will play June 20/21 at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex in Delaware.

LebCo United Strike WIN State Cup

May 17, West Chester, PA The U15 Girls WIN State Challenge Cup in a tough match against Phoenix Fire. Phoenix scored 7 minutes into the match sending a loose ball into the net after a multi-player collision which prevented Keeper Nikki Harner from trapping the ball. Fifteen minutes later Striker Sam Laicha weaved and faked her way through several defenders to snap a fast shot, cross net, into the corner. Late in the first half, Phoenix attempted a "trap" on a free kick from the midfield but moved too late leaving 2 LebCo strikers and Midfielder Maddi Wagner with nothing but grass between them and the net. Maddi drilled the incoming ball into the back of the net ending the half at 2-1. The second half opened with a few close calls from shots on goal and a late game challenge by Phoenix but LebCo held on in a tight, tough match. All the LebCo girls are to be congratulated on a well played, tough match.
LebCo United Strike will advance to the sub-regional playoff bracket for the President's Cup near Pittsburgh on May 30 & 31.
