LebCo United Strike WIN State Cup

May 17, West Chester, PA - The U15 Girls WIN State Challenge Cup in a tough match against Phoenix Fire. Phoenix scored 7 minutes into the match sending a loose ball into the net after a multi-player collision which prevented Keeper Nikki Harner from trapping the ball. Fifteen minutes later Striker Sam Laicha weaved and faked her way through several defenders to snap a fast shot, cross net, into the corner. Late in the first half, Phoenix attempted a "trap" on a free kick from the midfield but moved too late leaving 2 LebCo strikers and Midfielder Maddi Wagner with nothing but grass between them and the net. Maddi drilled the incoming ball into the back of the net ending the half at 2-1. The second half opened with a few close calls from shots on goal and a late game challenge by Phoenix but LebCo held on in a tight, tough match. All the LebCo girls are to be congratulated on a well played, tough match.
